Joe Hughes III is a writer and poet who explores alternative Black experiences, masculinity, and internet culture through self-interrogative nonfiction, research, and poetry.
Joe worked alongside students in an art collective named Spark, where he co-produced the art project "Beautiful Minds". He also scripted for a student-run podcast group named Hokie Talk.
At Virginia Tech, Joe's poetry received a nomination for an Undergraduate Creative Writing Award and a finalist spot for two years in the Giovanni-Steger Poetry Awards.
